FAQ

Biomass Boiler - Does a biomass boiler need a tall flue?

The natural draught through a boiler is critically important to its efficiency and operation. In general, the taller the flue the better the draught and the better the operation. Unfortunately, we understand this is not always so easy as flues can look unsightly and out of place. Its difficult to balance the position of the boiler in relation to surrounding buildings and obstacles is very important while also considering the height and position of the flue for optimum combustion. The overall height of a flue does though depend on the type and manufacturer of boiler and fortunately there are ways to mitigate this with different types of systems. Choose an experienced company who will be able to advise on a suitable position for your boiler and flue.
