Project Overview
We are excited to announce the installation of the new MasterTherm BoxAir Inverter 5-17kW R290 Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) for our valued client. This project encompasses a comprehensive upgrade to the heating system, ensuring enhanced efficiency and sustainability.
Key Components of the installation
Electrical Supply: Full electrical supply setup, including the installation of a new consumer unit to support the ASHP.
ASHP Base and Defrost Drain: Construction of a robust base for the ASHP and integration of a defrost drain to manage condensation.
Primary Pipework: Installation of new primary pipework from the heat pump to the airing cupboard. This involves routing through trunking, under floorboards, and into the existing airing cupboard.
Twin Coil Cylinder: Installation of a new twin coil cylinder, with reconnection to the existing solar thermal system for optimal energy use.
Oil Boiler Decommissioning: Capping off the primary connections to the old oil boiler under the utility cupboard. These will be redirected from the airing cupboard to supply the underfloor heating manifold.
Heating Distribution Upgrade: Upgrading as much of the accessible heating distribution pipework as possible to ensure efficient heat distribution.
Zone Valve Identification: Before decommissioning the existing oil boiler, we will identify the zone valve that controls heating. This is likely located in the airing cupboard, but we will verify all underfloor heating (UFH) zone valves in various locations.
Radiator Circuits and Ground Floor Heating: Installation of PAD for radiator circuits and PGDX for the ground floor, which primarily consists of UFH supplemented by a few radiators.
