Technical - Carpets with Underfloor Heating
Posted on 01 June 2017 in FAQ
Carpets and underlay with too high a tog value can insulate the heat from rising through the floor, the tog value states the 'thermal resistance'. The choice of underlay and installation method is critical for the best performance from an underfloor heating system.
We recommend a combined thermal resistance of less than 2.5 tog from both the underlay and carpet to allow underfloor heating system to operate efficiently.
